Obanian caves are known for their Mesolithic and BA artefacts and numerous burials. Radiocarbon dates on human bones from one cave show these to be IA, suggesting the Obanian assemblages are composites accumulated over millennia.

An overview of the effects of maritime activity on the archaeology of Denmark ranging from the appearance of specialised coastal sites in the late Roman Iron Age, through the escalation in the increase of landing sites in the seventh--eighth centuries. Coverage includes the role of seafaring, research problems and the definition of maritime archaeology, relations between inland and coastal sites as seen in the archaeological record (particularly Gudme and Lundeborg, and Lejre), ship building, the development and economic role of landing places, settlement structure and finds, and effects on early town formation. There is mention of the new Centre for Maritime Archaeology at Roskilde.

Details a project commissioned by EH from Bournemouth University Conservation Studies Department, in association with RCHME, aimed at systematically quantifying the English archaeological resource in terms of our changing state of knowledge about monuments in the light of their continued physical decay; the implications of decay for different classes of monument and the differing levels of information available at different points in the process; and the preparation of publications etc to reach a wide audience.
