Reports on the establishment of the Marine Archaeology Project (MAP), based at Queens University Belfast, which aims to create a paper and computerised database of known underwater sites in the coastal waters of the Province. The relevant documentary and cartographic sources are outlined. Following on from this, field evaluation work has been undertaken at several sites, including: Ringhaddy Castle and Nedrum (Co Down), the Nimble wreck (Ballyhenry Bay), and Taymouth Castle (Co Antrim).
