Abstract
Roman cremation burials found at Sandwich, 1846
David J Holman
170 - 174
Discusses the discovery of three Roman cremation burials in cinerary urns along with samian fragments and coins from Archer's Low as reported in the Journal of the British Archaeological Association, 2, 1847. Suggests a location for the site, which was probably part of a cemetery for nearby settlements, and traces the finds to the Liverpool Museum.
The invasion of 43AD -- a re-evaluation
Dana Sadler
175 - 179
A discussion on the possible routes taken by the invading Roman forces in light of the fact that Dio Cassius's accounts are open to interpretation. Suggests that Aulus Plautius's command split three ways after landing in Richborough, marching or sailing west, north and east, and converged again for the attack on Colchester after the arrival of Claudius.

Burials at Reculver and Richborough
Brian Philp
Refers back to an earlier article on the discovery in two Roman well-shafts near Reculver Roman fort of three female skeletons dating from between AD 270 and AD 300. It is questioned whether they may have been victims of a Saxon raid, owing to the lack of formality in their burial. Similarities are also noted with another group of burials at Richborough, where a pit was uncovered that contained the skeletons of a man, a woman and a child, along with fourth-century jewellery, pottery and coins. Considers that the bodies may have been buried in haste to prevent contagion of some sort of disease. DMF.
