Twenty artefacts, nearly all of Wilburton tradition, have been recovered over a period, possibly from a dispersed hoard. Two swords, spearheads; metal analyses (J P Northover).

A number of burials at or just after the Roman Conquest contain exceptionally large assemblages of pots, up to 53 in one grave (at Alton, Hants); this seems to be a regional sub-type of the La Tène cremation tradition. Listed are 18 sites.

Reports remains of flax from Iron Age Guernsey (mineralized) and 18th century England, together with nettle fabric from Bronze Age Denmark. SEM studies.

The analysis of 55 examples shows that the more elaborate (eg Wessex) daggers had remained longer in circulation than the others.

In Getica, 2, 10-15 is a passage giving the location and description of Britain, borrowed from earlier sources like Strabo and Tacitus.

Gives a detailed assessment, from an engineering and archaeological perspective, of possible causes of the menhir's fracture. A large natural flaw discovered within it was probably responsible for breakage during erection; the basal section may have been re-erected, falling at some later date. The original position of the stonehole is predicted. Neither lightning strike nor seismic shock appear likely to account for the present disposition of the fragments. Quarrying, transport and erection methods are considered in detail.

The development of the Marshfield villa is reinterpreted as indicating several phases in the growth of a kin group. Two native farmsteads with a shrine in common were replaced by a bipartite house. Subsequent alterations suggest one household becoming markedly superior to the other and housing the (putative) shrine.
