Considers the Society's late nineteenth-century campaigning tactics in their attempt to prevent the demolishing of a fourteenth-century church during the Victorian Gothic revival.

Nine encoffined skeletons comprised seven from single graves and two from the same timber-lined mortuary chamber. Sparse grave goods included a first- or second-century flagon, and fourth-century coins, knives, bone comb and bracelets. Parallels in grave furniture and goods can be found in the extensive cemetery at Lankhills, Winchester.

Describes and discusses copper alloy objects - seven brooches and a tweezers fragment - recovered by metal detecting. It is argued that the pieces contribute to the diverse cultural influences evinced in the area during the fifth and sixth centuries AD.
