Abstract: |
Malcolm Atkin gives an interim report on main sites excavated in Gloucester in 1988 while Patrick Garrod reports the minor development sites: Roman, med, and Civil War. John Rhodes provides a gazetteer of properties of Llanthony Priory, Gloucester (including many in Wales and Ireland) together with a note on the priory's historical importance and a bibliography. Carolyn Heighway provides a recension of earlier work near St George's church, King's Stanley (late Iron Age and RB features, late Roman villa running under churchyard and church, possible wooden church of 11th century, moated manor of 12th century and another manor house of 14th). S Pakner & G Hey report on sampling of a 40-ha cropmark complex which revealed round houses, pens, fodder-stands, etc of an unromanized 1st century AD settlement of low status. A Neo axehead from Broadwell, Stow-on-the-Wold is reported by A Saville. |
