West Midlands Archaeol 42

This paper presents the regional strategy devised by CBA West Midlands in response to English Heritage's Frameworks for our past (1996).

Note on results of the Hagley Historical and Field Society survey (begun in 1996 and four years in the making) of twenty-two farm sites in the pre-1933 parish, covering 950ha.

A report dealing briefly with the results of repair-driven research on the continuous-type bank of kilns at Knowle in the context of the industry as a whole and with the contrasting evidence from Kiln Leasow three miles along the Edge to the north-west. The work culminated in a series of experimental burns carried out in September 1999. This article is a shortened account of that published in Lime News 7 (Milln, 1999).

Hoard of medieval silver coins discovered in 1997 having been deposited some time between 1380 and 1400.

Three sites were examined in 1999 by Herefordshire Archaeology with the assistance of Time Team. Freen's Court, Downfields Knoll and Downs East came to light as parchmarks in aerial photos taken in 1990 and presented as possible evidence for an AS vill. Further investigation is called for.
