C 584128. The principal interest of the barrow was its structure and its environmental history as reconstituted from extensive pollen and 14C analysis (21 dates, 1900 bc to ad 1400). The barrow's central pit contained turves laid in radial pattern, and a little cremated bone; a short cist lay over the pit. Circular mound, shallow ditch, low outer bank.

Q 365043. Excavations at this undocumented site revealed a sequence of burials and dwellings dating from 5th century AD to medieval and later times. Enclosure wall; posthole structures; clochauns; small oratory with primary lintel grave cemetery beneath; and small slab-shrine. Finds include imported amphora sherds. Primitive ironworking was carried on (furnace-bottoms, slag, tuyères). No bone survived from the burials.

W 602609. Within the enclosed area was revealed remains of an unfinished hall-like structure; a timber habitation contained an Edward I penny. Sections through the bank and ditch revealed a probable gatehouse and another Edward I penny (1279-80). Saintonge ware sherds among other finds.
