Abstract
Peeling the onion: an approach to comparative vessel glass analysis
H E M Cool
Michael J Baxter
72 - 100
Makes use of correspondence analysis in the comparison of assemblages from different site-types and of various dates. Appendices describe the `Glass assemblages used here' (95--9) and discuss `Correspondence analysis and Roman archaeology' (99--100) [which argues that the technique should be used more by Romanists, particularly given the nature of the assemblages available for the Roman period].
Diet in the Roman world: a regional inter-site comparison of the mammal bones
Anthony King
168 - 202
An analysis of the relative occurrence of three types of animals (oxen, pigs, and sheep/goats) in various bone assemblages from across the Empire is used in a search for evidence of regional dietary patterns.
