Reports on the discovery of three linear pits that contained burnt bone and charcoal fragments and which had evidently been subjected to intense heat. It is suggested that they may have been used either for cremation pyres or, possibly, for making charcoal. A preliminary radiocarbon date of AD 417 was obtained.
