Reports on: several instances of statues or ogham stones being moved during building works; the National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994; an Early Christian or medieval building (an oratory?) excavated at the summit of Croagh Patrick; progress of the Bill to establish the National Heritage Council; and the Gulbenkian/Norwich Union Awards for Museums and Galleries.

A update on excavations at the Ballynahatty ritual complex, Co Down (see also 92/326). Massive postholes (some c 1.8m deep) were excavated, and these are interpreted as the remains of a series of concentric enclosures, which are depicted in reconstruction drawings. For the inner enclosure, five phases of construction are identified, with the final phase ending in deliberate destruction by fire.

Describes an unusual and distinctive cross fragment recently recovered from the graveyard wall of St James's Church, Cloone. The fragment comes from the upper part of the cross and bears two robed figures. It also provides the first tangible evidence of the monastery founded in c AD~570 by St Fraoch.

An introduction to electronic surveying equipment and the GIS computer programmes that assist the presentation of data. The use of these techniques is illustrated with reference to four sites in Co Clare (Castlefergus fulacht fiadh, Carrownanelly ring barrow, Coogaun Neo/BA enclosure, and Craggaunowen enclosure complex).
