The Shapwick project

The Shapwick project is a ten year study of a village in Somerset. Its aim is to further understanding of village origins. The range of techniques used is outline in this article. They include morphological study, regressive map analysis, examination of vernacular buildings, geophysical and aerial survey and fieldwalking.
