Abstract
CAD without AutoCAD, is it possible?
P Davenport

An outline of the structure and attributes of computer-aided drawing programmes, followed by a list and assessment of alternative packages to the well-known AutoCAD.
Democratising archaeological knowledge with computers
Jeremy W Huggett

Special feature on Photo-CD: from conventional photographs to digital resources
Seamus Ross

Photographic archives could more usefully be stored in a digital format: however, there is a problem converting from analogue. An introduction to the general concepts underlying Photo-CD, the process of production, and details of new printing technology, are followed by an outline of the difficulties with the medium and process, giving the British Academy's Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland (CRSBI) as an example.
