Abstract: |
Excavation of a service trench on the site revealed structures of the potworks and produced deposits of pottery wasters and kiln furniture sealed beneath an internal road. The pottery is dated to the early years of operation on the site, a period about which relatively little is known. Contrary to documentary evidence, it is shown that the potworks was not constructed as a single site, but was extended from a smaller site. `Appendices' (16--18) list contexts, site illustrations, and photographs. |
