Abstract:		 Reports on a programme of excavation to investigate the archaeological potential of the church which is thought to date back to the early medieval period. It was established that medieval deposits had survived later burial activity and building works. There was evidence of a boundary ditch and bank, a possible workshop area, and stone foundations which may belong to an early church. Appendices provide a `Catalogue of finds from Govan old parish church 1994' (47) and a `Catalogue of human remains from Govan old parish church 1994' (48-9).
