Abstract:
A short programme of excavations examined the site's archaeological potential. The castle has historical associations with the Lords of the Isles and is reported to have been abandoned in AD~1602. The excavations and survey revealed a complex structural history and considerable depths of archaeological deposits, including the lower storey of the tower and a well. Few artefacts were recovered.
