The article discusses the history of two late-eighteenth-century drawings by the artist William Ashford of Timoleague Abbey, which were later copied by other artists, and one of which was reproduced as an engraving in Grose's Antiquities of Ireland (1794--6).

Short article on one of four crucifixes found at or near Kilcrea Friary, County Cork, which was formerly in the collection of the antiquary Edward Hoare and a description of which was published in The Archaeological Journal in 1854, but which has since vanished. A photograph of a drawing of the crucifix, from the Library of the Society of Antiquaries of London, is included.

The article considers the historical context, form and function of the vaulted magazine at Ballincollig Royal Gunpowder Mills, including a description of the site and of the visible remains of the building.

Account of the excavation of an area of medieval settlement believed to be peripheral to the medieval town of Glanworth. The remains were dated to the fourteenth century by ceramic evidence, stratigraphic relationships and a single radiocarbon date of 1300--65 cal AD. Evidence was found of two circular timber structures, possibly linked to agricultural activity, a ditch, a corn-drying kiln and a number of pits ranging in date from the late-thirteenth or fourteenth century to the post-medieval period.
