Abstract
Stability and variety in the weight-standards of Cunobelin's precious metal coinage
J H C Williams
125 - 128
The author discusses the implications of a correspondence in weight between four of the five types of gold staters (the `cornear' staters) of Cunobelin.
A new approach to analysing the circulation of Iron Age coinage
Colin Haselgrove
129 - 174
The paper examines a way of using the revised chronology of Iron Age coinages arising from recent archaeological evidence to investigate how the role and circulation of Iron Age coinage varied between regions and through time (mainly continental Belgic data).
Two important new Roman coins
Richard Abdy
Nicholas Harling
175 - 178
Article on two recently discovered coins, both of which have confirmed the authenticity of other, previously unique and historically significant, coins. The first is a Leges et Iura aureus of Octavian dated to 28 BC, identified in early 2005 during work on the Hart collection at Blackburn Museum. The second is a coin from the Chalgrove II hoard of Domitian II, thought to have been a short-lived ruler of the Gallic empire in the third quarter of the third century AD.
Islamic coins from early medieval England
Rory Naismith
193 - 222
Article on the 173 gold and silver Islamic coins minted before c.1100 which are known to have been discovered in England, distributed among nine hoards and about seventy single finds, mostly from areas of Viking settlement. The author considers their role in the Viking and Anglo-Saxon economy and the probable route by which they reached England, and the implications for trade, especially with Scandinavia.
The 1834 Baddinsgill find of crescent sterlings
Stewartby
223 - 225
Article on seven Scottish crescent type coins of William the Lion and one English Short Cross penny of Henry II, purchased in the late 1960s but which the author suggests may be the remaining coins of a hoard found at Badinsgill in Peeblesshire in 1834.
The weight standard of the English coinage 1158--1279
Martin Allen
227 - 233
The article examines the possibility that the weight standard of English coinage during the production of the Short Cross coinage between 1180 and 1247 was 246d. per tower pound, rather than 242d. as has previously been suggested. Includes

Coin hoards 2005: ancient hoards
301 - 313
Short, separately authored entries on various hoards of ancient coins, including fifty hoards of Iron Age and Roman coins found in England in 2003-4.
