Thirteen copper alloy bars recovered from Money Hill bell barrow in 1861, if BA, would be unique. Pottery comes from two groups of barrows, Therfield Heath and Five Barrow Field: it is illustrated and discussed.

The villa was found in 1960 and excavated in advance of motorway construction, the baths being preserved for display in a vault below the road. There were four buildings in all, and a canal. The possibility that this villa had a relationship with the Lockleys one is discussed in terms of the known phases; however, both could be part of one large landscape. Also recorded are a corndrier on Welwyn Bypass and slight evidence at Wendover.

Long study of the nave roof suggests it originally had tiebeams to every couple, as in Peterborough Cathedral Archdeaconry, perhaps Kempley (Glos), Wistanstow (Shrops), and some others. There is also a Romanesque door with ironwork.
