Interim report on the investigation of hypotheses about the Abbeydale Works site, Sheffield, before its post-1770 expansion. The account aims to raise awareness of features which should be treated as particularly sensitive. The Works itself is a small site which is an integral part of a larger system, aspects of which are discussed, including features in Ecclesall Woods and remains higher up and lower down the River Sheaf.
