Reports an emergency excavation of a Roman pottery production and iron-working site. A kiln was located c. 200m from a known Roman roadside and industrial settlement at Meole Brace. Two interconnected kilns were excavated that produced a substantial group of Severn Valley ware oxidised and red colour-coated wares. Some tools were associated with the wasters and these artefacts and the structure of the kilns themselves offer and insight into Late Roman pottery production in the hinterland of Wroxeter. Provides a structural assessment of the two-bay cruck-built farm. Dendrochronological sampling has enabled a building sequence to be established; the main house was constructed in 1422, with additional developments in c. 1609, and at intervals during the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The remains of two wall paintings are also assessed, one of which appears to date from the early-seventeenth century.

Reports the excavation of a previously unrecorded prehistoric burnt mound at Rodway. The mound was 15m in diameter, and despite having been partially truncated by weathering and recent agricultural activity, some burnt material survived above the natural subsoil. A pit, interpreted as a water trough, was located on the northern side of the mound. A radiocarbon date in the thirteenth century BC was obtained from a sample of burnt material.

Describes fifteenth-century choir stalls and carved poppyheads from St Laurence's parish church, Ludlow.

Notes two eleventh-century strap mounts from north Shrewsbury, a fourteenth-century silver ring from Albright Hussey, and two silver Anglo-Saxon strap tags from Frodesley Lodge Farm, Longnor, Shropshire.
