Abstract
From the beginning: Bronze Age metalwork in Norfolk
Andrew Lawson
3 - 10
Broad study of artefacts in this category and their potential social significance, part of a general series concerning Norfolk.
The excavation at Blackborough End, Middleton of a Roman salt production site
Mark Leah
12 - 16
Excavation of a site threatened by plough damage produced large quantities of briquetage, a rectangular settling tank and a relatively complex boiling hearth possibly indicating links with Nar Valley pottery industry. It is hoped eventually to have sufficient information to produce detailed comparisons between Roman, Saxon and medieval salt production.
The Dereham controversy: further thoughts
Alan J Davison
16 - 19
Contributes additional interpretations to evidence for St Withburga at East Dereham and West Dereham. It is thought likely that East Dereham was preferred in medieval times as a way of adding weight to religious activity there during that era. Documentary and physical evidence seems to lend itself rather to West Dereham.
Norfolk landscape archaeology report
David Gurney
23 - 26
Reports recent work across the county.
