Abstract
The retro-choir of Winchester Cathedral
Peter Draper
1 - 17
Argues that the retro-choir, under construction c 1202-22 for Bishop Godfrey de Lucy, is part of a general movement for the more ostentatious presentation of important relics. The spatial effect of this eastern extension consisting of a three-bay aisled hall enhanced the cult of the relics displayed within it (probably including the shrine of St Swithun) and improved access for visiting pilgrims. Its form became the model for single storey eastern extensions in south and west England. L A S B

The development of later Gothic mouldings in England, c 1250-1400: Part I
Richard Morris
18 - 57
Introduces the study and discusses the various mouldings. An indexed archive (planned for eventual computer working) is being built up at Warwick University, concentrating on the period 1250-1400 initially, with English emphasis but also containing records of mouldings from Continental sites; timber and metal are included as well as stone and brick.
