Abstract
Bosporthennis, Zennor & news from Carnmarth (Cornwall)
Michael Tangye
Two short notes. The first reports on a field visit to a remote settlement whose name means `Dwelling at the entrance to a lonely place'; nineteenth-century population census records are quoted. The second note describes an inscribed cross that, according to tradition, may have been removed from the Nine Maidens stone circle.
Another windmill, for the record
Les Douch
A note identifying the site of a seventeenth-century windmill at Higher Hatt, in the parish of Rame (Cornwall). The mill is mentioned in deeds in the Courtney Library.
Glastonbury -- factional or fictional histories
Jacqueline A Nowakowski
Summarises the recent Holbeche Corfield lecture, by Philip Rahtz, which discussed the importance of the Tor, both in terms of its multi-period archaeology and the many legends that it has inspired. It is thought that the site has had a key role in the history of the area.
