The pottery from excavations in three burgage plots in the town of Newport, Dyfed, 1991
Dee F M Brennan

This report describes the medieval pottery excavated from three burgage plots within a deserted area of the medieval new town of Newport. The sherds from Phases II-VII are divided into nine fabric groups, which fall into three main categories; local, English and continental.
A roulette-decorated Monnow Valley ware jug from Llanelen, Gower
Jonathan A K Kissock
9 - 13
This find is important as the westernmost find of a largely complete vessel. It is one of the few examples to have been found outside Monmouth, and hence makes a reconsideration of the pattern of distribution of this type of pottery necessary.

Dee F M Brennan
G Evans
Heather F James
Edna Dale-Jones
15 - 108
Selected assemblages of eighteenth and nineteenth century pottery and glass from later contexts of excavations on Roman and medieval sites in Carmarthen since 1978, are briefly described. A full catalogue is given of a nineteenth century group of pottery and glass from 7 Spilman Street, Carmarthen. Similarly, a full catalogue is given of clay pipes recovered from all the Carmarthen excavations. These catalogues are prefaced by summary details of the location and nature of the excavations, and a historical introduction. This examines patterns of production, marketing and supply, and describes the growth of specialist china and glass shops. Amongst other source material use is made of contemporary newspaper advertisements and images to illustrate the social context of the artefacts.
Two medieval vessels from Flatholm Island, Glamorgan
Mark Redknap
109 - 112
Investigation of the earthworks of an Augustinian grange produced prehistoric and medieval sherds including those reported here from a medieval spouted jug or aquamanile.
A highly decorated jug from Oxwich Beach, Gower
Mark Redknap
112 - 113
Description of a large fragment of a jug found on the intertidal zone of the foreshore at Oxwich. Parallels are drawn with finds from other rural sites in Gower.
