Reports on projects carried out by the Institute of Archaeology, UCL, which are contributing to conservation and archaeological research in London. These include: conservation of stonework in the Tower of London; recording, by LARF, of two medieval buildings (the Henry VII Chapel in Westminster Abbey, and the City's Guildhall); a Thames foreshore survey; and the Thames Interdisciplinary Environmental Study (TIDES).
Collaborating for conservation

Reports on an environmental impact assessment that considered the potential effect of a new road on the hydrology of an area of the North Kent Marshes. The work was carried out by a UCL team who are also collaborating on a computer modelling application for wetlands.
Natural allies: examining the past to help plan for the future
Details the aims of two global environmental research projects funded jointly by UCL, the Natural History Museum, the Government, and the charity Water Aid. The projects are examining climatic change and geological water resources -- changes brought about by human activities such as deforestation will be amongst those considered.
