Providing précis of papers given: topics include an introduction to Scottish farm buildings, early examples, Historic Scotland's re-survey and its findings, farm buildings in the Bathgate Hills, Craigton (Central), RCAHMS survey of threshing mills, pattern books and nineteenth-century farm steadings, East Lothian's contribution to the genre, and finally, policies and practices involved in steading conversions in the same county. There is brief mention of HFBG members' papers and details of the farms visited.
