Abstract: |
An introduction to the variety of geophysical techniques, indicating the limitations of the methods and, where relevant, commenting on their suitability for resolving specific archaeological questions. The conditions which make a site suitable for survey work are described, with particular reference to limiting factors such as geology, pedology, ground conditions, modern disturbances, and the type of archaeological feature expected. Also briefly discusses sampling, data display, and legislative considerations. |
