Abstract:		 Petrological analysis was undertaken on thirty five samples of medieval glazed tiles in a white-firing sandy clay, considered on typological grounds to have been made France, perhaps Normandy or the Saintonge region in the south west. The analysis indicated that western Normandy or Saintonge were possible sources, but ruled out western Normandy.
