Abstract: |
SX 482539. Rescue work over ten years produced more than a ton of pottery of medieval to early 20th century date but mostly of late 17th century. Its provenance, the town's refuse tip, means it must be treated as unstratified. Wares covered include many imports (SW French and Beauvaisis wares, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Middle and Far Eastern wares and porcelains) as well as British products. Quantification is based on minimum numbers of vessels. |
