Abstract: |
TL 051086. A previously unknown villa showed the following sequence when excavated: 1, bath house c AD 75 with possible timber dwelling; 2-5, successive alterations to bath house; building and modification of winged corridor villa; 6, large bathing pool built possibly as a business concern, and enormous heated room added to main house; 7, demolition of baths and villa, area taken over for animal pens, one building occupied until ?early 5th century. Specialist reports treat finds, animal bones, charcoal/wood and slags. |
