Abstract: |
Five evaluation trenches were located within the footprints of the proposed dwellings. Trenches 1 - 4 contained no archaeological features, however, Tr.5 in the north-west corner of the site contained a small complex of pits, cut by a later shallow ditch or gully. A separate pit was located approximately 4m to the south. Pottery of early Iron Age date and animal bone were recovered from the pits and the linear feature. |
