Abstract: |
Moor Street, together with Edgbaston Street and Park Street represents part of the historic centre of Birmingham. The moated manor house and the smaller Parsonage Moat lie to the southeast and southwest respectively. Their associated watercourses and Edgbaston Street, which was one of the earliest streets to be laid-out in the town, lie to the southwest. Evaluation trial trenches established that surviving medieval deposits at Moor Street were limited to a discrete area within the footprint of the former Ship Ashore public house where they were well preserved and were located within 1.6-3m of the modern ground level. |
