Abstract: |
During July 2008, North Pennines Archaeology Ltd undertook an archaeological field evaluation on land to the south of 3-25 Thackeray Road, Hartlepool (NGR NZ 4885 3116). The aims of the work were to establish whether the Romano-British Settlement of Catcote to the immediate north extended into the site. Two evaluation trenches, measuring 2m in width by 10m in length, were excavated (Trench 1 and 2). The results of the evaluation failed to locate any archaeological remains within the evaluation trenches. |
