Abstract: |
CFA Archaeology Ltd carried out a desk-based-assessment and evaluation (2195m²) of a proposed residential housing development on the eastern edge of Newtongrange, Midlothian. The desk-based assessment showed that no known cultural heritage sites exist within the development area. The evaluation work revealed truncated rig and furrow cultivation remains aligned mostly NW-SE and mining related features and deposits including two in-filled air shafts. |
