Abstract: |
A gradiometer survey was undertaken prior to the relocation of an electricity pylon near to the scheduled remains of a temporary Roman camp. Earthwork remains of the camp were recorded in 1800, but it was levelled by ploughing during the later 19th century and visible only on aerial photographs by 1945. The survey found no evidence of the camp. Further work is recommended. |
