Abstract: |
Two late Saxon or Saxo-Norman pits were identified, one cutting the other, with further sherds of late Saxon or early medieval pottery also recovered from elsewhere on the site. There was no trace of any feature that looked like it formed part of the burh defences, which had been predicted to be on or adjacent to the site. |
