Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on foundation trenches for a garage and new pool house in the grounds of Canfield Moat, a large 19th century house. Part of the north-west corner of the moat lay beneath the site of the new garage, over 5m wide and 2m deep and backfilled with early 20th century material, with a spur heading off to the north. The pool house was sited just to the east of the eastern arm of the moat and was dug into undisturbed ground. |
