Abstract:		 Evaluation by trial trenching of land currently occupied by the NHS George Street Health Centre in an attempt to locate and characterise any structural remains and deposits that may rlate to the Iron Foundry noted to have formerly occupied the site. Three trial trenches were located and succeeded in locating structural features relating to the iron foundry, an external courtyard and ancillary buildings. However, internal structures and the working floor, as well as subsurface features such as casting pits or hearths were not encountered.
