Abstract: |
Building record of partially-surviving 14th century aisled barn, now housing a swimming pool(!). south aisle and porches rebuilt in 18th century and roof structure completely modern. Only posts and plates remain and one long wall. Barn to west is c.16th century extension, later absorbed into a second barn in the 18th century (or later). Third barn has medeival trusses perhaps from the former house that was re-built in the mid 16th century. Two Victorian animal units. Trench dug in grounds as first part of monitoring works but no date fixed for redevelopment of site. Monitoring will likely be within the castle bailey. |
