Abstract: |
The investigations found evidence for Romano British and medieval settlement. The former was found in the southern part of the site while the latter was in the north. The Romano British occupation was from the mid 3rd century into the 4th century while the medieval activity was during the second half of the 11th century and the 12th century. No Anglo-Saxon activity apart from residual pottery was found. It is possible that there was some limited activity in the 16th or 17th century before the land became part of Malthouse Farm in modern times. |
