Abstract: |
A watching brief was conducted by John Moore Heritage Services during the stripping of topsoil and excavation of pipe trenches associated with the construction of a new sewer pipeline at Whiteland's Farm, Bicester. Numerous post-medieval features were found during the topsoil stripping including wall foundations and associated demolition material from two post-medieval farm buildings, and two boundary ditches. During the excavation of the pipe trench several small burnt deposits were found sealed by the post-medieval soil but lacking associated datable material. Modern land drains and service trenches were also present throughout the site. |
