Abstract:		 An archaeological monitoring, carried out on land to the rear of 18 High Street, Clare during residential development, identified an undated former boundary ditch which is thought to have defined a property boundary to the rear of the post-medieval street frontage and may have earlier medieval origins, together with three large pits of post-medieval date that were probably rubbish pit within the yards to the rear of the extant 15th/16th century buildings.
