Abstract: |
Deeply stratified remains of Roman and medieval date encoutered in the central and western part of the site, directly below the existing concrete surface. Roman remains included flagstone and cobble surfaces, walls, pits and a possble cremation burial. Dating evidence indicates mostly 2nd-3rd C activity. Medieval remains included developed soils and pits. Post-medieval (18th-19th C) walls recorded in the eastern part of the site. |
