Abstract: |
The site lies directly to the north of St Botolph's Church, which is of 13th - 16th century date. The church has Saxon origins and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM no. LO104). Excavation revealed three in situ human burials that had been heavily truncated by the excavation of an electrical service trench. Layers dating to the medieval period overlay the burials. In addition to the burials, disarticulated human remains were found throughout the site. |
