Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological works was required by BAE Systems PLC in respect to the remediation and enabling development of the Bishopton Royal Ordnance Factory These archaeological works are designed to inform the mitigation of any impact on archaeological remains within the area designated the Northern Access Road (NAR). Only one significant archaeological feature was located within the development area, a V-shaped curvilinear ditch which may represent a truncated fragment of survival from a Roman military ditch. This feature was thoroughly investigated with no material culture being present; it was also subject to an open area strip which did not uncover any associated archaeological features. |
