Abstract: |
Roman period activity recorded immediately east of the line of Cade's Road. Earliest features comprised east-west aligned boundary ditches with Hadrianic pottery. One had been re-cut in the later 2nd century. Late 2nd or early 3rd century activity comprised further boundary delineation, quarrying and small-scale refuse pitting. Mid to late 3rd century activity comprised a single substantial refuse pit and final infilling of a large quarry pit, dated by coin evidence to after AD 260-300. |
