Abstract:		 Due to the proximity of known archaeological remains identied in a previous environmental impact assessment, an archaeological evaluation was carried out by GUARD Archaeology Ltd of the proposed Dundee West development area and associated SUDS Outfall Area, near Denhead of Gray, Dundee. The trial trench evaluation examined 5% of the 20.96 ha proposed development areas. Five shallow pits, several furrows, two series of linear orientated post-holes and a stone wall and drain were encountered during the evaluation, but no significant artefacts or environmental evidence were apparent in any of these features. Two flint artefacts, including a fragment of an Early Bronze Age flint knife, however, were recovered from topsoil along with a half penny dated to 1907.
