Abstract: |
The programme consisted of fieldwalking and evaluation trenches with a prior geophysical survey carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology (ECB3305: Report 09/169). The evaluation identified surface scatters of earlier prehistoric flintwork and Early Iron Age pottery, an extensive area of Early Iron Age pitting cutting through an extant buried soil (protected by a medieval headland), a posthole structure of uncertain date containing fragments of lava quernstone and evidence for medieval Ridge and Furrow agriculture. |
