Abstract:		 A series of test pits were excavated within the footprint of a proposed ford and access road through the river Granta at Babraham. A Romano-British cobbled surface likely to have been associated with a previously identified Roman building c.100m to the north ,a riverside track or riverbank consolidation deposit and a full alluvial and colluvial sequence for the formation of the site were identified.
